Independence
No rebates, no order-flow deals, no products of our own. We're paid in fees by you, and by no one else — so our only incentive is to be right.
The firm
Bishop Street Trading Limited was incorporated in London on 3 September 2021 as a private limited company — a small, deliberately independent consultancy for systematic traders. We sell judgement and engineering, not products: no funds, no order flow, no assets under management, and therefore no reason to tell you anything but what the evidence says.
Where we sit
Our registered office is at 33 Haymarket — a street that has traded since the 1660s, first in hay and straw, now in theatre tickets and lunch. It sits in St James's, a short walk from Trafalgar Square, in the middle of the postcode where London has always gone to think about money carefully.
The location is a reminder, not a boast: markets are old, edges are temporary, and the firms that last are the ones that keep doing the unglamorous work — checking the data, counting the costs, writing things down.
Why the bishop
The bishop never moves in straight lines down the middle. It commits to one colour, works the long diagonals, and sees across the whole board while staying out of the crowd. That is our model of good systematic trading: pick your ground, take the angle others ignore, and let range — not aggression — do the work.
It's also why we're comfortable being the adviser and not the hero. In good hands the bishop is quietly decisive; it rarely delivers mate alone, and it doesn't need to.
Principles
No rebates, no order-flow deals, no products of our own. We're paid in fees by you, and by no one else — so our only incentive is to be right.
Every recommendation comes with the data, the assumptions and the code path that produced it. If we can't show it, we don't say it.
Version control, tests, monitoring, post-mortems. A strategy is production software with money attached, and we treat it that way.
Your strategies, data and results stay yours. We work under NDA by default and never reference clients without written consent.
On the record
We believe firms that advise on process should keep their own paperwork in order. Bishop Street Trading Limited is registered at Companies House and files on time; the essentials are here, so you don't have to go looking.
A first conversation costs nothing and commits you to less.
